Two more Clinton supporters, Miguel Lausell and Luchy Secaira, have jumped off the donkey cart this week. Both are quite active as political organizers in the Latino community. Miguel D. Lausell, one of Hillary Clinton’s Senior Political Advisers, and Luchy Secaira, Clinton Delegate-at-Large, announced their support for Senator McCain and Governor Palin.
A life-long democrat, Mr. Lausell, in comments on Fox News, indicated Senator Obama has done nothing for Latino’s, and he also mentioned that women on Obama’s staff were paid $6,000 less than the men, while women on McCain’s staff were paid about $2,000 more than men.
While expressing his endorsement for McCain, Mr. Lausell said, “John McCain has a long record of reforming government and working across the aisle to achieve bipartisan results. His courageous leadership is exactly what we need in the White House, and I am convinced that John McCain is the right leader at the right time for our nation.”
Lausell has served as President and CEO of the Puerto Rico Telephone Company; Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Telephone Authority; and Undersecretary of the Department of the Treasury of Puerto Rico. He served on the National Finance Board of the Gore 2000 Committee and was a member of the Democratic National Committee’s Leadership 2000 Board.
Alcee Hasting is only the 6th Federal Judge in U.S. history to be impeached, and the only impeached federal judge to later be elected as a congressman.
The following information is quoted from Wikipedia.
In 1981, Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence and a return of seized assets for 21 counts of racketeering by Frank and Thomas Romano, and of perjury in his testimony about the case. He was acquitted by a jury after his alleged co-conspirator, William Borders, refused to testify in court (resulting in a jail sentence for Borders).
In 1988, the Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives took up the case, and Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413-3. Voters to impeach included Democratic Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, John Conyers and Charles Rangel. He was then convicted in 1989 by the United States Senate, becoming the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate. The vote on the first article was 69 for and 26 opposed, providing five votes more than the two-thirds of those present that were needed to convict. The first article accused the judge of conspiracy. Conviction on any single article was enough to remove the judge from office. The Senate vote cut across party lines, with Senator Patrick J. Leahy, Democrat of Vermont voting to convict his fellow party member, and Arlen Specter voting to acquit.
The Senate had the option to forbid Hastings from ever seeking federal office again, but did not do so. Alleged co-conspirator, attorney William Borders went to jail again for refusing to testify in the impeachment proceedings, but was later given a full pardon by Bill Clinton on his last day in office.

During a panel discussion hosted by the National Jewish Democratic Council, Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, told the group, “If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention. Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.”
First of all, it’s important to understand what race baiting means. Many Americans frequently hear the words, but perhaps don’t truly understand the meaning of the expression. Here’s a brief definition.
Race baiting is an act of using racially derisive language, actions or other forms of communication, to anger, intimidate or incite a person or groups of people, or to make those persons behave in ways that are inimical to their personal or group interests. This can also be accomplished by implying that there is an underlying race based motive in the actions of others towards the group baited, where none in fact exists.
Now, you make the call. is the Democratic Congressman Hasting a race baiter, or not?
At a time when America need to unite, democrats continue, in both words and deeds, to divide the nation along political, racial, religious, and gender lines.
On September 4th, a member of the Democratic Underground website named Bob Weaver posted the above image on the website DemocraticUnderground. The post has since been deleted, but it demonstrates a disgusting sense of humor that many of my democrat friends failed to appreciate.
The description in the fake auction reads, “Adorable special needs child desperately requires loving family. Used once as a prop during a televised speech. Requires spit to style hair. Can shoot a rabbit with an air rifle at 35 feet. Mother is pushy social climber, unwilling to let pregnancy and children stand in way of ambition. Father unknown.” Click on the image for full size view.
